Zeepad 7.0 Allwinnwer A13 Boxchip Cortex A8 Android 4.0 Tablet Review

The Bottom Line

The Zeepad 7.0 Allwinnwer A13 Boxchip Cortex A8 Android 4.0 tablet is an entry level tablet pc very similar to Tagital A13 Q88, ideal for very basic day to day usage. Its not top of the line, but, serves well the purpose of reading emails, surfing web, play games, and watch HD videos. The only major disappointment with the device, other than its build quality is unavailability of HDMI port which is not surprising as the processor which this tablet uses, don't support HDMI port functions. Thus, if HDMI port is not important to you, then go ahead with the purchase. And, if possible, don't forget to buy SquareTrade 2-Year Tablet Accident Protection Plan (Below $100) along with the tablet to be on safer side.

When it comes to buying cheap tablets priced below $100, there are plenty of options available in the market specially from no name brands. Zeepad 7.0 android tablet introduced on August 17, 2012 is no exception to the list. This Zeepad 7.0 tablet currently available for as low as $79 not only matches the specs of similarly priced Tagital A13 Q88 even the design is almost identical. But, does the Zeepad 7.0 tablet have any added functionality or feature, so that, we’d recommend it over similar tablets? Let’s take a look.

The Zeepad 7.0 Allwinnwer A13 Boxchip Cortex A8 Android 4.0 tablet features new Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and comes rooted out of the box. So, no more trouble of finding for a rooting solution, a real time saver for most of the skilled Android users. But, for Android newbies, this means you can easily install apps requiring root access without voiding the warranty.

What comes in the box?  Other than the Zeepad 7.0 tablet, the package includes a charger, a regular USB to Mini USB cable, user manual and headphones.

Design & Build

Zeepad 7.0 Allwinnwer A13 Boxchip Cortex A8 Android 4.0  tablet measures 7.64 × 4.72 × 0.31 inch(L × W × H) and weigh just 19.86 oz. It is available in three color options, black, pink and white. The design of this Zeepad tablet is not fancy, or something unique. But, its not that bad either as it feels quite light and sleek.

And, regarding the build quality, it feels cheap, so if you buy this don’t try to compare this with the build quality of tablets like Google Nexus 7 or Amazon Kindle Fire which are almost priced as twice as this one. Also, considering its build quality, if you want to be on safer side, its recommended to buy SquareTrade 2-Year Tablet Accident Protection Plan (Below $100) by spending few bucks extra. This will protect you if your device goes kaput.

The Zeepad 7.0 Allwinnwer A13 Boxchip Cortex A8 Android 4.0 tablet pc display is 5 point capacitive touch screen having screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and aspect ratio of 16:9. The picture quality is very crispy, and touch screen responsiveness, viewing angles are also okay.

The performance is somewhat decent as it managed to run games like Shadowgun, Dead Trigger, Raging Thunder 2, Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds Starwars surprisingly well. For the price, the performance is satisfactory. However, don’t get disappointed when sometimes it display not responding errors. Just be patient or kill the non responding app, if that ever happens to you.

Don’t bother..it is of little help!

This “articel” says next to nothing about the actual product, and the bad English usage in the article tells me “watch out – could be a hoax”. If you are going to write up a review, at least know the product, real pros and cons, and be able to write in English as a native speaker. Amateurish English doesn’t speak well for your product. I write for online content all the time, and find this level annoying.
